Adam at Universal in Orlando, Florida 6-29-2013

About a month or two ago, my mom found out that Adam would be coming to Universal for a concert on June 29th. At first, we thought there was no way we could go! Universal was far. But after a few months of trying to talk my mom into it and going back and forth on whether or not we were going, we decided to try it and bought the tickets on the 27th!

After hearing about the concert two months ago, the day had arrived! My mom and I got up early that morning and prepared everything for the day. Then once we were all set, we headed towards Orlando around 3:00pm! Thanks to my brother for letting us borrow his camera for the day, we managed to get a few photos on the ride there! It also started pouring on the drive!

After about two or so hours of listening to David and Adam on the ride there, we finally arrived at Universal! It was actually a lot easier to get into the place than I thought. And we didn’t get lost either! Haha. Even if we thought we had at first.

Once we had gotten a parking space in the parking garage, we headed into Universal! And it was insanely hot! Plus we had no Idea where we were going, of course. Tons of walking! Haha. We had to give tickets to some guy when we were walking into the park and the first thing he said to us was “Are you here for the Adam Lambert concert? Did you know he’s gay?” Oh boy. He didn’t mean anything by it though. He also told us he had seen some Adam fans right before us. He said he told them “Do you think you can turn him?” lol. Doesn’t work like that, dude. We had to hand him our bag at first, so he took it and then didn’t even look through it, just talked to us for a few minutes, so that was weird. He didn’t even look at our tickets either!

After talking to the guy we showed our stuff to, we saw a few signs with Adam’s name on it!

Then we headed into the park! We had no idea where we were going, so we asked a few people and they sent us in the right direction. Once we got to the area that lead into the concert area, we handed a woman our tickets, but she said the ones we got allowed us in at 7:00pm! Mind you, it was only about 5:30 and people were already heading in! So we went and sat down on a bench for a good 20 minutes, and then decided to ask the woman if we could upgrade to a ticket that would let us in and she told us we could upgrade it at customer service. Which was on the other side of the park! So we headed over to customer service and waited in line for a while, then we got the upgrade! It was a good thing too. We went back over to the woman at the gates, and she let us in! Then we headed over to the concert area!

We ended up being pretty close to the stage! I was surprised. We got in at just the right time, as well. People started piling in as soon as we got in! It was cool seeing all the Adam fans. After standing there for about and hour and a half, the Universal people came out on stage and started getting the crowd all excited.  They started to do Q&A’s about a TV show called ‘Falling Skies’. Which they talked about for almost an hour! They threw merchandise out into the audience. And then when it was getting to a close, two of the actors on the show came on to the stage! Drew Roy (Hal) and Jessy Schram (Karen)! I wasn’t expecting that! Drew Roy is cute in person haha. And he seemed really sweet! So they started throwing some of the merchandise that was left out into the crowd and then they were going to show a tribute video sort of thing about ‘Falling Skies’. But the screens didn’t work! LOL. So much for that. Drew Roy said “I promise it’s really awesome anyway!” LOL. I regret not taking at least a picture or two thought. Bah!

Once they left, people started setting up the stage for Adam! And while we were waiting, we had to deal with a very RUDE woman, who wasn’t even there because she liked Adam anyway. But I won’t get into that in this recap.

After waiting about 20 more minutes or so, Adam’s band started coming out on stage! Then came Adam!!! He looked great! He was wearing leather vest with a gray-ish t-shirt underneath, with jean shorts and boots! He looked so real that he didn’t look real. Haha. Reminded me of David! Also, another thing that stood out to me was his eyes! They're STUNNING in person. So blue even from a distance. Beautiful! He's absolutely gorgeous in person! He has such a happy, feel good energy about him.

Adam started out with one of his songs from his first album ‘For Your Entertainment” called ‘If I Had You’! It was so fun! The energy was great and he was glowing. Then after that he sang a song from ‘Trespassing’ called ‘Naked Love’! And it was so much fun! Everyone was having a blast. At the end of the song he said “How’s everyone doing Orlandoooooo?!” haha. After that he sang ‘Cuckoo’! Which is one of my favorites! He said it was hot and then took of his vest, right before the song began. Then once the song ended he said how it was so hot today and kneeled down in front of one of the fans blowing on him that they had on stage and held the mic up to it. Then started talking into the fan. LOL. It was hilarious. You couldn’t really hear it so he said “Well, that didn’t really work!” LOL. The next song after hat was ‘Never Close Our Eyes’! The energy was awesome! Everyone was on their feet jumping! After that was ‘Pop That Lock’ another one of mine and mom’s favorites! Once that ended, he said “Ok, let’s get a little seriouussss” LOL. First was ‘Chokehold’! Which was awesome! Then after that was ‘Broken English’ which I was surprised he would sing again! It was so good! Then after that he sang a Tears For Fears cover ‘Shout’! I loved it!! One of my favorite covers of his. After that, he performed ‘Whataya Want From Me’! It was great! Then once that ended, he moved onto ‘Outlaws of Love’ and gave a small speech about acceptance and equality. I don’t remember exactly what he said, but I loved it. And the song was beautiful! Then after that he performed another cover ‘Is This Love’! Loved the reggae feel it had. After that, he sang ‘Kickin’ In’! Which was awesome! He hasn’t sung this one in a while (it’s one of my mom’s favorites and she was hoping he would) so my mom was happy about that! At the end of the song he was talking about it and said "Do you. Feel it. Kicking. In." In a dramatic, deep voice LOL. It was hilarious. Next, came ‘Fever’, which was so fun! He’s insane. He went down to the barricades and hugged some fans, then some fan reached down and grabbed his butt! LOL. All right then. Once that ended, he sang ‘For Your Entertainment’! He sounded so good! Next came a Queen cover ‘Dragon Attack’. He talked about Queen a little bit before the song began. He did great! After that he sang ‘Shady’ it was so funky! I loved it. In the middle of the song he introduced his band; Ashley, Tommy, Rick, and Brian! Once that song ended they all headed of the stage for about 5 minutes. Then he came back to sing ‘Trespassing’! Another one of our favorites! Once the song was over he ran and slid on the stage and then ended up with his legs in the air LOL. Then he bowed a few times and he left the stage. I wish I remembered what he talked about more in between songs, he was hilarious! He was so smiley the entire time too! Also, I’m pretty sure he looked right at us and smiled a few times! So cute!

Also, I found this video of Adam's equality speech. Although, it isn't mine, I really wanted to include it. I love what he says :)

Once the concert had ended, we headed towards the merchandise stand! My mom bought a bracelet and a poster. The very last poster too! Even though the guy was bending it when he was giving it to us. But all and all it turned out nice for having been hanging up all day long! Then after we bought those two things, we headed back towards the car and stopped to get an Icee on the way. Which we drank before even made it to the car LOL. It was so hot out. But it was worth it. We also saw a bunch of guys together/holding hands during and after the concert. I thought that was pretty awesome!

We talked about the concert on the entire ride back, then stopped at Walmart and parked outside and had a sandwich. It was soooo good. Then headed home and it was over. Had a blast and Adam is SO good live! He’s so sweet too! I loved the aura he had about him. Hope we can see him again soon!
