After hearing about the concert two months ago, the day had
arrived! My mom and I got up early that morning and prepared everything for the
day. Then once we were all set, we headed towards Orlando around 3:00pm! Thanks
to my brother for letting us borrow his camera for the day, we managed to get a
few photos on the ride there! It also started pouring on the drive!
Once we had gotten a parking space in the parking garage, we
headed into Universal! And it was insanely hot! Plus we had no Idea where we
were going, of course. Tons of walking! Haha. We had to give tickets to some
guy when we were walking into the park and the first thing he said to us was
“Are you here for the Adam Lambert concert? Did you know he’s gay?” Oh boy. He
didn’t mean anything by it though. He also told us he had seen some Adam fans
right before us. He said he told them “Do you think you can turn him?” lol. Doesn’t
work like that, dude. We had to hand him our bag at first, so he took it and
then didn’t even look through it, just talked to us for a few minutes, so that
was weird. He didn’t even look at our tickets either!
After talking to the guy we showed our stuff to, we saw a
few signs with Adam’s name on it!
Then we headed into the park! We had no idea where we were
going, so we asked a few people and they sent us in the right direction. Once
we got to the area that lead into the concert area, we handed a woman our
tickets, but she said the ones we got allowed us in at 7:00pm! Mind you, it was
only about 5:30 and people were already heading in! So we went and sat down on
a bench for a good 20 minutes, and then decided to ask the woman if we could
upgrade to a ticket that would let us in and she told us we could upgrade it at
customer service. Which was on the other side of the park! So we headed over to
customer service and waited in line for a while, then we got the upgrade! It
was a good thing too. We went back over to the woman at the gates, and she let
us in! Then we headed over to the concert area!
We ended up being pretty close to the stage! I was
surprised. We got in at just the right time, as well. People started piling in
as soon as we got in! It was cool seeing all the Adam fans. After standing
there for about and hour and a half, the Universal people came out on stage and
started getting the crowd all excited. They
started to do Q&A’s about a TV show called ‘Falling Skies’. Which they
talked about for almost an hour! They threw merchandise out into the audience.
And then when it was getting to a close, two of the actors on the show came on
to the stage! Drew Roy (Hal) and Jessy Schram (Karen)! I wasn’t expecting that!
Drew Roy is cute in person haha. And he seemed really sweet! So they started
throwing some of the merchandise that was left out into the crowd and then they
were going to show a tribute video sort of thing about ‘Falling Skies’. But the
screens didn’t work! LOL. So much for that. Drew Roy said “I promise it’s
really awesome anyway!” LOL. I regret not taking at least a picture or two
thought. Bah!
Once they left, people started setting up the stage for Adam!
And while we were waiting, we had to deal with a very RUDE woman, who wasn’t
even there because she liked Adam anyway. But I won’t get into that in this
recap.
After waiting about 20 more minutes or so, Adam’s band
started coming out on stage! Then came Adam!!! He looked great! He was wearing
leather vest with a gray-ish t-shirt underneath, with jean shorts and boots! He
looked so real that he didn’t look real. Haha. Reminded me of David! Also, another thing that stood out to me was his eyes! They're STUNNING in person. So blue even from a distance. Beautiful! He's absolutely gorgeous in person! He has such a happy, feel good energy about him.
Also, I found this video of Adam's equality speech. Although, it isn't mine, I really wanted to include it. I love what he says :)
We talked about the concert on the entire ride back, then
stopped at Walmart and parked outside and had a sandwich. It was soooo good. Then
headed home and it was over. Had a blast and Adam is SO good live! He’s so sweet
too! I loved the aura he had about him. Hope we can see him again soon!
