Adam at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida 3/12/16!

Around October 2015, Adam embarked on his international 'The Original High' tour! We knew he would be doing a US one also next year, but had no idea when he would be starting it. So, after months of waiting for dates to be announced, in early January some dates were leaked on Twitter! No sign of him coming here in those leaks, but we kept hope. And, alas, a week or so later official dates were posted! Naturally, my mom and I had to find out if he was coming near us. And, lo and behold! He would be doing 3 shows in Florida!

One at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on the 12, one at Universal Studios, Orlando on the 13th and one in Miami on the 14th. We knew Miami was out of the question given it's quite far, but we had already been to Universal so we knew the way there pretty easy.

After putting some more thought into it and going back and forth with whether or not we should go to both or choose one, (and the fact that Universal wouldn't have screens like Hard Rock would and he essentially tells a story with each song with the screens behind him) my mom looked into tickets for the Hard Rock Live concert and found two left around the second row! Unfortunately by the time that she showed me, the seats were gone. But, there were two aisle seats left on the left of the stage! Not as good, but everything else was in the balcony. My mom wasn't sure (other things were making it seem like we wouldn't be able to see him whatsoever) if she should buy the tickets. I more or less forced her to buy them before they could disappear, too LOL. Plus, my mom's birthday was coming up on the 17th, so what better birthday gift than that!?

So, on March 2nd, 10 days until the show, we purchased our tickets and were going to see Adam Lambert for the second time! Also, later that day after purchasing, my mom kept quoting "I'm going to Hollywood!!!" like Adam does when he gets his gold ticket LOL!

Today, on Monday, March 7th, out tickets arrived! Starting to feel more real now!!

March 12th, the day had arrived! I woke up quite a bit later than expected around 10 or 10:30am and got some work done on the computer. Then started getting ready to see Adam!! We left around 3:40 on our way to the show. There was a ton of traffic so our hour and a half drive turned into more of a 2 hour drive, but got to see some pretty cool sights along the way, plus listened to Adam's album 'The Original High' over and over! We made our way into Hollywood, Florida and our directions weren't exactly the best. So, of course, we got lost! We headed in basically the opposite direction of the casino. We drove right next to an airport and got to see some airplanes taking off at pretty close rage, so at least we got to see that! We soon realized there was no way the casino could be anywhere near where we were, given that the area was pretty much a mess and we figured the casino had to be somewhere nicer than that. So, we decided to turn around and the GPS randomly decided that it wanted to cooperate!

We drove and drove until the area started getting a little bit nicer and lo and behold! To the right was Hard Rock Live Seminole Casino!!! The area was a little bit confusing, but we made our way up to the 7th floor of parking garage. The ceilings of the garage were so short, that with every single bump you felt like you would hit it! lol. As we got out of the car, we realized the arena was all the way on the other side of the casino! We thought about driving to the parking garage on the other side of the casino, but decided to stay where we were, which ended up being the right decision. Then, into the elevator! As we walked out you could see Hard Rock Live's huge sign!

The entire are was so cool looking, so of course, I had to take some photos! We also went under a pillar that had 'Another Day in Paradise' lyrics on it!

The entire area was really cool, but hard to navigate. Let alone find a bathroom! We walked around for about 20 minutes trying to find one and then ended up going into a bar to find one. After that, we went into Hard Rock Live and waited in a line that we thought was just to be able to get into the arena, but turned out to be for VIP so a security guard came over and basically kicked us out LOL. So, after that we just wandered around and saw some Adam pictures around the arena!

I was trying to take a photo of a giant Adam sign when some Adam fans came over and asked if we would take a photo of them in front of it lol. I ended up messing up the camera on the phone for a second, I don't really know how to use smartphones given I don't have one, so that was interesting. After that, we waited in the arena and kept away from the security guard so he didn't notice us LOL. Eventually more people did the same and we got kicked out again. The whole set they had for VIP and just regular seating was pretty unorganized. They should have a way better system, there was no way to know where to go. We waited for another 20 or 15 minutes outside of the doors, then finally regular ticket holders were allowed inside! We walked over to the security guards and they were making everyone open their bags to see if people had cameras and whatnot. Luckily, my mom stuck ours way down at the bottom of her purse, so they didn't see it!

We made our way over to the merchandise table before heading into the arena and Adam's fans are so nice! They were all talking to each other and one girl came over and told my mom and I that she loved our necklaces lol. She kept asking me how you could tell which shirts were women and which were men and I told her under the price sign and looked at me as if I was crazy. She then said "I can't see that far O_O" LOL. After waiting for others to buy their merchandise, we finally made it to the front! My mom bought Adam's tour book and I got a cool shot glass with his logo's on it!

Into the area we go! When we bought the tickets, I thought we were going to be off to the side and it would be hard to see, but we had some pretty good seats! Only 7 rows back from the stage!

As we waited for Adam and Alex Newell to come on, the crowd started piling in. My mom and I were on the very edge of the row, so we got stepped on a lot so people could get in LOL. There were two women in front of us sitting on their phones just looking at Adam pictures. I thought that was funny lol. While we were waiting, my mom realized she had a nail in the bottom of her shoe! No clue where it even came from, she's lucky it wasn't a bigger one. Before Alex came on, they kept playing some of Adam's songs over the speakers! They played 'Cuckoo' (twice, the first time they cut it off for now reason lol) and 'Naked Love'!

After waiting another good 40 minutes, Alex Newell started his set! He's really good!

He's hilarious, too. He kept telling everyone to say hi and become friends with the people you were sitting next to. That, and for everyone to shake their weave. And if you didn't have one, "shake your bald head!" LOL. At one point he was trying to get the crowd to clap and some people weren't doing it so he said "Oh, you're white. Do you know how to clap?" LOL.

He sang about 6 songs from his new EP. I don't remember the names of any of the others, but I did know 'Collect My Love' and it was really good!

About half an hour or so more after Alex's intermission, it was Adam's turn!! Before he came on they had a really cool back drop set up.

Then a remix of 'Better Than I Know Myself' started playing! I didn't know they did that before shows. My mom and I always call that remix the scary transformer one lol. It has a lot of dub-step to it. Really cool live, though! That when on for about 5 minutes, then Adam came onto the stage!! He sounded SO GOOD!! His live voice is SO amazing. Once again, he looked so real in person that he didn't look real lol.

Normally during his opening song he has a screen behind him with all different art and really cool scenery, but apparently something was wrong so it wasn't working! It didn't come on until the last half of the show. He started out the show with Evil in the Night, For Your Entertainment, Ghost Town, Runnin, Chokehold, Sleepwalker, Underground, Whataya Want From Me, Lucy, After Hours, Mad World, Another Lonely Night, The Light, The Original High, Never Close Our Eyes, Let's Dance and If I Had You. He talked a few times in between songs, I wish I could remember what he said completely, but he started talking after Mad world and before Another Lonely Night about equality. He said "Okay, hold on let me get on my soap box. I wish I had a soap box. I should one made." LOL. He started about how everyone is so focused on labels and how each person is different from the other and such. I wish I could remember every detail, but I do know he said "We all as human beings have a heart. Classifications don't mean anything, we are all human. I want to keep it idealistic." The video below has the entire speech. He called Another Lonely Night "the universal heart" <3

Also, a few times during the show he kept saying there was a bunch of cuties out in the crowd tonight. The first time he said it, he said "SO many gorgeous faces in the crowd tonight! And the girls are looking good, too." LOL. He also had three different outfits. Started out with a really cool black/navy blue and white one, then left for intermission and came back with a light pink suit, then left again and came back in a combat outfit! Another note, during the entire concert he kept saying over and over "I love you guys so much!" <3 He also asked where everyone was from: Orlando, Miami, For Pierce, other parts of Florida. Then he asked if anyone was from anywhere else to which of course, people said yes, so he said "You're not from Florida? What the hell are you doin' here, then?!" LOL.

He's so hard to get a non-blurry photo of. He never stops moving LOL.

Usually during the entire show from what I've seen in Youtube videos, he's always dancing with his dancers and going all over the place, but this time he didn't. He danced a few times and usually his dancers will come up to him and they do some freestyle and choreographed dancing, but he had to tell them when it was okay to do so by signalling them. He always introduces his band and dancers, as well, but he didn't that night. I thought that was odd. He sounded absolutely amazing and looked super happy, but something during the show felt off/rushed. It was also much shorter than usual. About 6 or 7 songs were cut out of the set list! At the very end of the last song If I Had You, he grabbed his throat and made a D: face. We assumed when he left the stage he was coming back for his encore like usual, but he never did. Later we found out that his band members said he was really sick with strep throat! You wouldn't have known by the sound of his voice or the way he looked!

Once we left the arena, we headed back over to the merchandise table and my mom bought a poster and a tote bag (after some pushing ;))! Then, we went outside and tried to find a bathroom again. We headed over to the same one we used earlier, but there were barricades all over this time! We tried to just walk through, but a security guard stopped us and asked if we were going to the bar/club. My mom and I said yes, then he looked at my mom and said "Is she 21?" LOL. Oh boy. She said yes so we went over to the area where you walked back towards the bar/club and a security guard stopped me and carded me again. Then we walked closer to the doors into the bar/club and they carded me again LOL. So, I got carded 3 times within 5 minutes. All just to go to the bathroom! There was a huge dance floor inside of the club with all tons of people dancing. It was really cool looking! Also, while I was in the stall in the bathroom, 3 girls were trying to break into it LOL.

Anyway, after all that, we made our way to the car and headed back! We stopped at Walmart first and got a sub before we went home. And got home around 2 (which ended up being 3 since the time changed) and that was that. We had so much fun seeing Adam for the second time! Getting to be around him was definitely therapeutic and much needed! His aura his absolutely incredible. He was amazing as usual, sick or not!!

We thought that was the end of our Adam weekend, little did we know...

P.S.

Random little fact: My mom and I also realized that both the first times we saw David and Adam were outside and the second time was inside LOL.
